Albert Henry Mytton's Family Tree
My name is Jayne and I married a Mytton; one of Albert Henry Mytton's grandsons. This is the Mytton family tree mainly of Aston and Birmingham which is the result of several years research on my part. Albert Henry Mytton was the son of Ruth Mytton (who was unmarried at time of birth) it took 9 years to connect Albert to the Myttons of Aston due to fibs on various certificates.
Albert Henry Mytton was born on the 4th December 1897.
On his birth certificate the address: 5 Norma Place, Alcester Street, Deritend, Aston.
Name and surname of father: William Mytton.
Name and maiden name of mother: Ruth Mytton formerly Masters.
Occupation of father: Brigade Fireman.
Informants name and address : Ruth Mytton, mother, 5 Norma Place, Alcester Street, Aston.
When registered:11/1/1898
For years I looked for a Ruth Masters marrying a William Mytton to no avail, but had often come across Ruth Mytton daughter of Ebenezer marrying Elijah Woodall. I'd contacted the fire brigade and tried Birmingham library; even using their genealogist. The person living at 5 Norma place on the 1901 census was a widower named William Hope. I contacted many people with Mytton trees and even decided to pay a genealogist company, but they weren't interested; coming back to me in just a couple of hours after our 1st contact to say they couldn't help.
We sent for Albert Henry Mytton's marriage certificate and these are the details on it.
When married: 26/10/1929
Where married: Emmanuel Church, Wylde Green.
Age: 33.
Condition: Bachelor.
Rank or profession: General furnisher.
Residence at the time of marriage: 40 Green Lanes, Wylde Green.
Fathers name: Frank Mytton.
Rank or profession of father: Deceased.
Albert married Lucy Barker, she was aged 32 and a spinster. Her occupation a domestic servant. Her fathers name was John Eli Barker. Also deceased on the marriage certificate.
So then this led me onto look for a Ruth Masters marrying a Frank Mytton, but still nothing. Albert Henry Mytton wasn't on 1901 census.
Then came the 1911 census and all became clear - eventually. Searching for Albert Henry Mytton revealed nothing and it was looking as though I was in for a wait of another ten years until the 1921 census was published. When the test version allowed searching for first name only I trawled for all the Albert Henrys - about two hundred of them as I recall. Towards the bottom of the list and beginning to lose heart I then spotted an Albert Henry Waytton Woodall. Bingo - I guessed that this was a transcription error and that Waytton should be Mytton. I was right and soon had the handwritten record in my hand. The focus of my search was there - Albert Henry Mytton Woodall aged 13. In her own handwriting, his mother Ruth Woodall, declared a son named Albert Henry Mytton Woodall. Where the form asks for years married Ruth entered a number then scribbled it out and put down 14. The correct answer I now know should have been 10, so she was covering her tracks and Albert Henry's illegitemacy as society demanded in those days. Ruth gave her occupation as shopkeeper of 2nd hand furniture. They're both born Birmingham and the address given on the census is 33 Holyhead Road, Handsworth, Staffordshire.
From there I obtained the marriage certificate for Ruth Mytton to Elijah Woodall. They married 3/12/1900 at Birmingham register office. Elijah is 32 a bachelor and Ruth is 26 a spinster. Elijahs profession is cabinet maker. Elijahs address is 18 Kent Street, Birmingham. His father is Enoch Woodall, deceased, cabinet maker. Ruths address is 13 Alcester Street, Aston. Her father is Ebenezer Mytton, deceased, builder. Witnesses at the wedding were Ralph Ellis and Laura Ellis. Laura is nee Mytton, Ruths sister.
So this made things clear. Ruth was born Ruth Mytton and there was never a Ruth Masters as she described herself on Albert Henry's birth certificate. Going back to the 1901 census armed with the new information I hoped to pick up Albert Henry but still no luck. However Ruth and Elijah Woodall were there, married for less than a year and no child mentioned as living with them. Perhaps it would have been improper for a couple so recently married to have a child of three years old. I can only speculate as to where Albert Henry was living - with relations I expect.
Back at the 1911 census, husband Elijah is not mentioned and again I can only speculate as to his whereabouts at that time. He was certainly alive though as he died in 1920.
I have obtained death certs for both Ruth and Elijah Woodall.
Elijah died: 13/7/1920 aged 52.
Address where died: 1 Union Road.
Occupation: Rowton House, Alcester Street, Birmingham, chair upholsterer.
Cause of death: Carcinoma of tongue.
Description of informant: P. Woodall, sister, 14 Gladys Road, Hay Mills, Birmingham.
Elijah is buried unfortunately in a common grave in Yardley cemetery.
Sadly for Albert Henry Mytton his mum died just a few months after his stepdad in 1920. At that time he would have only have been 23 and was an only child. Ruth had no other children.
Ruth died: 17/12/1920 aged 45.
Address: 70 Sycamore Road, Handsworth, Birmingham.
Occupation: Widow of Elijah Woodall, upholsterer master.
Cause of death: Ulceration of pyloris probably malignant (as far as I can tell this is stomach cancer).
Description of informant: A H Mytton, son, present at death, 70 Sycamore Road, Handsworth.
Ruth is buried in Handsworth cemetery in what they refer to as a common burial plot with no markings to say who she is. So presumably this is a paupers grave very sad to think that Albert probably couldn't afford a headstone.
I have now done the tree for Albert Henry Mytton which is further down this page as a pdf attatchment. He was related to most Myttons of the time born in and around Birmingham.
So now to the parents of Ruth Mytton born in 1875 in Birmingham. Her father was Ebenezer Mytton born c1841 in Dudley. Ruth's mother was Jane Bates born in 1842 in Birmingham. Ebenezer and Jane married in 1861 in Kings Norton. Although this was Ebenezer's second marriage he appears to have had no children with his first wife called Ann Maria Piper whom he married on the 22nd November 1858. Ebenezer and Jane had a large family and daughter Ruth was the seventh of ten children.
Children of Ebenezer Mytton married to Jane Bates

This photo is Ruth on the right with 2 of her sisters unfortunately at the moment I don't know which as she had 4,as with the photo below of Ruth its not in very good condition as Albert carried it in his wallet.
I have now received a photo of Laura Mytton who went on to become Laura Ellis.
I also have this photo of Lauras daughter Ruby Ellis
On the 1871 census the family's address was given as 33 Essex Street, in the ward of St Thomas, Birmingham. Ebenezer's profession is painter and paper hanger.
On the 1881 census the family's address was given as 23 Smithfield Street, in the ward of Saint Martins, Birmingham. Ebenezer's profession was a painter and oil colour dealer. His son Ebenezer was also a painter and his daughter Laura was a general servant.
So let's take a closer look at Ebenezer and Jane's children.
Their first child as stated above was Sarah Jane Mytton born 1863 in Birmingham. Sarah married Edmund Taylor Lawson 1883 in Birmingham. They went on to have two children; Jane B A Lawson born in 1885, Aston Deritend and Edmund J H Lawson born in 1890 Aston Deritend. At the time of the 1891 census, Edmund Taylor Lawson was a house painter and the family's address was 270 Bradford Street, Aston Deritend. By the time of the 1901 census the family had moved to 25 Soho Hill, Handsworth and Edmund was still a house painter. The 1911 census record shows them still living in Handsworth but by then they were living at 45 Villa Road. Edmund described himself as a house painter manager. Edmunds son is a brass founders pattern maker. Edmund's daughter Jane Lawson went on to marry Arthur Charles Law in 1906 in West Bromwich.
The second child born to Ebenezer Mytton and Jane was a boy and they called him after his father Ebenezer Mytton (I'll call him Ebenezer jnr for clarity). Ebenezer jnr was born in 1866 in Birmingham and went on to marry Jane Templeman born 1866 in Birmingham. They went on to have five children: Ebenezer George Mytton born 1889 Warwickshire; Ruth Mytton born 1895 Warwickshire (yes another Ruth Mytton!); William Henry Mytton born 1901 Warwickshire; James Victor Mytton born 1906 Warwickshire; and Sydney Charles Mytton born 1907 Warwickshire. At the time of the 1911 census Ebenezer jnr was a House Painter, married for 25 years, and living at 19 Drury Lane, Birmingham. Their first child Ebenezer George Mytton's occupation in 1911 was a dipper and tinner and he's still living with his parents. Their second child Ruth married Edward Audley in 1915 in Birmingham. At the time of the 1911 census, before her marriage, Ruth Mytton was living with her parents and gave her occupation as a spoon and fork polisher. Their third child William Henry Mytton was a scholar living with his parents as were Sydney and James in 1911.
The third child born to Ebenezer Mytton and Jane was Laura Mytton who was born 1868, Birmingham. In 1891 she married Ralph James E Ellis born 1866, Oxford. They had five children up to the 1911 census. Their first child was Ruby Ellis born 1886 in Birmingham. Their second child was Oliver Ellis born c1895 in Oxford. He went on to marry in 1913 Birmingham Elizabeth Riley born c1895. The third child of Ralph Ellis and Laura was Dolly born 1898 Birmingham and their fourth child William Ellis was born in 1899 Birmingham. Last recorded and their fifth child was Amy born in 1897 Birmingham. At the time of the 1911 census the family was living at 4 Court 6 House, Bromsgrove Street, Birmingham. Ralph Ellis's profession was a house painter and paper hanger. Son Oliver was a baker and Ruby's profession was given as boring, presumably in a local metalworking factory. On the 1881 census and before she married Ralph Ellis, Laura was working as a servant at 14 Clifton Road, Kings Norton. The name of the head of household was William Isaac Orton.
Ebenezer Mytton and Jane's fourth child was called Louis Levi Mytton born in 1869 Birmingham. He got married c1892 to Ellen Rudd born in 1870 Birmingham. They went on to have nine children by time of the 1911 census and were living at 14 Hampden Street, Balsall Heath. Louis Mytton was a house painter. Ten years earlier, the 1901 census address was 70 Madeley Road, Sparkhill. There is a short service record (medical) for Louis dated 24/1//1917 that states his unit as the provisionals. He has emphysema and the record states he has been short of wind with bronchitis for 3 or 4 years and complains of rheumatism in the joints of his legs and arms. The record states his chest marked emphysema. His lungs no bronchtis present now but has had 2 or 3 attacks when under my case during past 2 or 3 months. His heart has no abnormal valvular murmurs detected. His teeth there is pyorrhoea present but no evidence of lead poisoning. It states he is to old and disabilities for military. He is discharged permanently unfit for service. There is service record (discharge papers)for Lewis as its spelt on the record. The date is stamped on as week ending 3/10/1917. His apparent age 49. His height 5'6''. Girth when fully expanded 39'' with the range of expansion been 2 and a half inches. Information supplied by the recruit is name and address of next of kin Ellen Mytton, 127 Gooch Street, Birmingham. Relationship wife. Christian and surname of woman married Ellen Rudd spinster. Place of marriage old Edgbaston church. There are 4 children listed Albert, Ernest, Emma and Rachael Margaret. His rank was Sapper. His regimental no. 233406 his regiment Royal Engineers. The date of discharge 28/7/1917 age at commencement of pension 49. His trade master builder. His character very good. Date of enlistment 14/1/1915. Cause of discharge physically unfit, rheumatism. It states not the result of and not aggravated by military service. The eldest of their children was Annie Isabella Mytton born 1895 Birmingham. On 1911 census she is a warehouse wrapper up, panel pins. Annie went on to marry Victor M George 1916 Kings Norton. They in turn went on to have nine children Although I know the names I am hopefully not putting any living relatives on this webpage. Second child was Frederick Sydney Mytton born 1897 Birmingham who later married Lilian Wilkins. Third child was Sarah Ellen Mytton born 1898 Birmingham who later married William R Wilson and they had six children. Fourth child of Louis and Ellen was William George Mytton born 1899 Birmingham. The fifth child of Louis and Ellen was Alexander Lewis Mytton born 1901 Birmingham and he died as a child in 1912 in Aston. Their sixth child was Albert Edward Mytton born 31/1/1901, Birmingham who later married Florence Walker (in the photo below) and they had five children to my knowledge. The seventh child of Louis and Ellen was Ernest Joseph Mytton born 16/10/1902 Birmingham. Their eighth was Emma Elizabeth Mytton born 5/3/1905 Birmingham and their ninth and last recorded child was Rachel Margaret Mytton born 26/3/1909 Birmingham.
Albert Edward Mytton and wife Florence
Now we can go on to the fifth child of Ebenezer Mytton and Jane. Leah Mytton was born in 1870 Birmingham. She married Henry Johnson born 1875 Yoxall, Staffordshire.
The sixth child of Ebenezer Mytton and Jane was Alexander Mytton. Alexander was born in 1874 and in 1900 married Mary Elizabeth Cox in Birmingham. At the time of the 1901 census they had no children and lived at 2 Trafalgar Place, Aston in the parish of Christchurch. Alexander was a house painter. Ten years later the 1911 census shows them living at 1 Breedon Place, Ashley Street, Birmingham in the parish of St Martins. By then they had one child, Dorothy Mytton, age 9 months and father Alexander was earning a living as a plumber and painter.
Ruth Mytton born 1875, unfortunately the photos not in the best condition as Albert always carried it in his wallet.
Fortunately for my husband, Ebenezer Mytton and Jane Bates had a seventh child, a daughter called Ruth Mytton. She was my husbands great grandmother and she married Elijah Woodall in 1900 a while after the birth of Albert Henry Mytton (hubby's grandfather and the subject of my research) in 1897. Witnesses at Ruth and Elijah's wedding were Ruths sister Laura Ellis and her husband Ralph Ellis. Young Albert Henry no doubt learned his trade in upholstery and second hand furniture dealing from step-father, Elijah. At one point Albert Henry was running a furniture business at 286 Lichfield Road, Four Oaks. His wife Lucy Mytton nee Barker also ran a florists from the same address. In later years they moved to 92/94 Prince Albert Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, where they ran two shops side by side; one being a grocers the other a cafe. Lucy Barker was born 4th November 1898 in Stony Stratford, Northamptonshire. Lucy died in 1997 not quite making it to a century but enjoyed very good health until a relatively short while before her death and she was adorable.
Albert Henry Mytton and wife Lucy
Albert and Lucy had ten children. Lucy's parents were John Eli Barker and Sarah Ann Barley. I have put two photos of the Barkers below this paragraph. The first is Lucy's grandfather, Joseph Barker atop his horsedrawn taxi at Stony Stratford and sporting a fine set of whiskers. He was a baker before this and at the time of the 1881 census he was living at the bakery (where else?) in Cosgrove and the building can still be seen today quite near to the tunnel under the Grand Union Canal. The second shows separate photos of Lucy's grandparents Joseph and Eliza Barker, the parents of John Eli Barker, Joseph was a little younger there I think. I know they're not Myttons but they are nice photos. Needless to say, researching the Barkers of Stony Stratford and Cosgrove was a walk in the park by comparison to fathoming the origins of Albert Henry Mytton!
The eighth child of Ebenezer Mytton and Jane was Isabella Grace Mytton born in 1877 in Birmingham.
Isabella married John Edward Lyons born 1872 in Rochdale, Lancashire. At the time of the 1911 census they were living at 60 Dunluce Street, Liverpool, sub district Walton and had one child, a young son John Norman Lyons, who was born in 1908 Liverpool. Father John's occupation was an agent.
The ninth child of Ebenezer Mytton and Jane was Francis Cephas Mytton born 1878 in Birmingham, who died in infancy in 1879 at Birmingham Road.
Their final and tenth child another son was given the same name as his older brother that died also being called Francis Cephas Mytton, born 1880 in Birmingham. This Francis lived until 1949. He married Lillian Zeta Terrill. By the time of the 1911 census they'd had five children. The eldest, Lillian Frances V Mytton was born in 1897 in Birmingham at Aston. Next was May Mytton, born in 1899 in Birmingham. Their third child was Beatrice Laura M Mytton, born in 1900 Birmingham. Fourth was Frank Mytton, born in 1904 in Manchester. They did have a fifth child but I have not put his name on here as there is the possibility that he's living to a grand old age.
So that's the family of Ebenezer Mytton and Jane Bates and quite a family it was.
Ebenezer Mytton born 1841's parents and siblings
Ebenezer's father was Edward Richard Mytton born c1812 in Birmingham and married to Ann Harper Archer born 1816 also Birmingham. He was a mystery for a while on the 1841 census. In the earlier census forms the respondent did not have to state a place of birth, just put Y or N in the box whether born in the county you were residing in and Edward put N. Edward at the time was aged 25 (would make his birth year 1816) and his occupation just shows "cl" so not sure what that would be. I could only speculate until I found him as a Clerk in the 1851 census so mystery solved. The address at the time was Stafford Street, Dudley, Staffordshire. Other people on the census living at the same address were Sarah Archer aged 40, of independent means. Sarah could have been Edwards mother in law as in these years people were having chidren from the age of 12 although she may have been Ann's older sister or her sister in law if Sarah has married Ann's brother (family tree research generates so many threads like this which could be researched to find the answer if time allowed). Next on 1841 census is Ann Mytton her age is down as 20 but she was actually 25 at the time of census. It was very common at the time for census age records to be incorrect because people couldn't count or even remember correctly. With Edward being a Clerk it is likely it was the latter. We know her correct age because her birth and christening are on the IGI records. She was born on 28th June 1816 and her christening wasn't until 21st July 1830 at St Martins, Birmingham. The marriage for Edward and Ann is also on the IGI records but Edwards name was spelt as Mitton not Mytton but as records show this was often the case with the Mytton name. Edward and Ann married 16th Mar 1833 at Saint Thomas, Dudley, at the time Dudley was in Worcestershire. Also on the 1841 census in the household they had three children, all boys; Frederick, Alfred and Edwin and Ebenezer just 18 days old. The next obvious step was to look up the 1851 census but that particular record appears to be missing on the ancestry website but hey ho I found it on the genes reunited one instead. The address was given as 32 Camden Street in the parish of St Pauls Birmingham. The record tells us that Edward and Ann were born in Birmingham. It also tells us that Edward was indeed a Clerk and they had two children living with them. Presumably the two older boys had left home but Edwin (as mentioned in the 1841 census) is shown . Edward's age was recorded as 39. Ann recorded her name as Ann Harper Mytton and her age looks very much like 24 (difficult to make out) but we know it should be 35. This shows how things can be transcribed incorrectly to on line databases. Then Edward Richard Mytton can be found in the criminal registers on the 29th of December 1856 , a Monday, charged with embezzlement. He was charged in Birmingham and given 8 calender months imprisonment. Edward died in Winson Green prison aged 45. Ann Edwards wife remarried just a few weeks after his death.
Children of Edward Richard Mytton Married to Ann Harper Archer
1st: Frederick David Mytton born 1835 in Birmingham.
2nd: Alfred Mytton born 1836 in Birmingham.
3rd: Edwin Mytton born 1839 in Birmingham.
4th: Ebenezer Mytton 1841 in Dudley.
So firstly we have Frederick David Mytton he was born 24 Aug 1835 and christened 15 MAR 1851 Saint Martins, Birmingham. He went on to marry Ann Cooper Born c1839 in Yardley, the date of the wedding 30 Aug 1857 at Aston. They went on to have one child Frederick Richard Mytton in 1858. Frederick David Mytton born 1835 died in 1866. Ann married again the same year as his death 1866 to Edwin Deeley born 1842 in Yardley. Frederick Richard Mytton took on the surname of his step father Edwin Deeley at some stage after his mums 2nd marriage. shown in 1871 census you can see by his age that he was born a long time before his mums 2nd marriage. Then Ann had 2 more children with her 2nd husband, Caroline Deeley born 1867 in yardley and Peter Deeley born 1869 in Yardley.
The 2nd child born to Edward Richard Mytton and Ann was Alfred born 1836 in Birmingham.
Alfred went on to marry Emma Cook in 1860 at Kings Norton. They went on to have 7 children I have 6 below but have since found another Louisa born 1868 in Birmingham. On the 1871 census the address is Lichfield Road, Aston. Alfred is a house painter. They have 4 children. By the 1881 census Alfred is still a painter and they have 6 children. There eldest child was Alfred Richard Mytton born 1863 in Birmingham. He went on to marry Rose Hannah Tuckley born c1863, on 11/10/1884 at St Andrews, Bordesley. They went on to have 3 children. The 1st was Rose Hannah Mytton born 23 Jun 1885 in Aston, she married Joseph Surch born 03 Dec 1886 in Stratford Upon Avon. They went on to have 9 children. Rose died in 1947 and Joseph died in 1965. Alfred and Roses 2nd child was Nellie born 1887 in Birmingham and she went on to marry Ben Homer in 1912 Aston. Then Rose and Alfred Myttons 3rd child was Lillian Mytton born 1889 Aston and she went on to marry Fred Bennett born 1890 Birmingham and they had 2 children. Fred died in 1962.The 2nd child of Alfred Mytton and Emma Cook was Emma Mytton born 1866 in Birmingham. The 3rd child of Alfred Mytton married to Emma Cook was Laura Mytton born 1865 in Birmingham. The 4th child of Alfred and Emma was another Albert Mytton born 1871 in Birmingham and he married Betsy. They had 4 children. The 5th child of Alfred Mytton married to Emma Cook was Ann Mytton born 1873 in Aston. Then finally the 6th child of Alfred and Emma was Sidney Edward Mytton born 1879 in Birmingham. He went on to marry Mary Ann Fradley born 1878 in Aston. They had 5 children the oldest been Sydney Alfred Mytton born 1896 in Birmingham he married Elsie A Burton born in 1897 Birmingham. They had 4 children. The 2nd child of Sydney Edward Mytton and Mary was Laura Emily who I have a birth cert for. Her birth was 24/2/1898 at 91 Aston Lane. Her fathers occupation was ammunition worker. Laura went on to marry William F Jones in 1915 at Aston. I won't put the other childrens names on in case they are living to a grand old age.
So now we can move back up to the 3rd child of Edward Richard Mytton married to Ann Harper Archer. Edwin Mytton born 1839 in Birmingham. Edwin is the name on earlier census records but hes calling himself Edward on his marriage certificate to Jane Chatwin born 1839 in Birmingham. These are the details on the marriage certificate. The date is 20/8/1860 at St Pauls Church in the parish of Kings Norton, Edward being a bachelor and Jane a spinster. Edwards profession is a saddler and they are both living in Balsall Heath. Father of Edward is Edward Richard Mytton a lawyers clerk and the father of Jane is Thomas Chatwin a shoemaker.Interestingly especially for Edward with his father being a lawyers clerk neither signed there own names they just put a mark which is X next to there names this usually meant that they couldn't write. They went on to have 2 children the 1st being Angelina Rose Mytton born 1861 Birmingham. On her birth certificate the birth date is 25/3/1861 and the addresswhere born 10 Hurst Street, St Thomas Birmingham. Name of father Edward Mitton mother Jane Mitton formerly Chatwin. occupation of father saddler, journeyman. The informant Jane Mitton put an X her mark the address as before 10 Hurst Street. Registered1/5/1861
Angelina spelling surname Mitton on marriage cert went on to marry Frederick Carter on 25/12/1880 at the parish church in the parish of all saints Birmingham. Angelina and Frederick are both aged 19 hes a bachelor and shes a spinster. Fredericks profession is toolmaker and Angelinas is chainmaker. Fredericks residence is Caroline Street and Angelinas is Whitmore Street. Fredericks father is John Carter a shoemaker and Angelinas father is Edward Mitton a painter. They have signed there own names.
On the 1881 census Frederick is a toolmaker. They have one son Lewis Carter aged 1. The address is 4 Brighton Terrace in the parish of All Saints Birmingham. By the 1891 census the address is 9 Terrace, Dudley Road and Frederick is a press toolmaker. They have 5 children Lewis Carter now 11, Lewis was to go into the army in later years. He was a flight lieutenant in the Royal Army flying corps. Lewis married Florence Lucy M Fagg in 1906 at Canterbury.
Frederick Carter aged 9, known as Freddie, Leah J Carter aged 6, George Horace Carter aged 4 and a daughter named after her mother Angelina shes just 3 months old. Then by the 1901 census the address is 353 Summer Lane in the parish of St George, Birmingham. Frederick is still a toolmaker. They have 6 children in residence with them the oldest been John F Carter aged 19, I think this must be the same person as Frederick aged 9 on 1891 census is using as theres no John on 1891 census but they would appear to be the same age and Johns middle initial been F. Then theres Leah,George,Angelina Maud Carter who was to go into service at the age of 14 in the Malverns. But by now there are 2 more children Hilda E Carter aged 9 and Elsie L Carter aged 7. So this brings us onto the 1911 census Frederick is now aged 50 and still a press toolmaker. Angelina and Frederick have been married for 31 years and have 4 children still living with them Theres George Carter now aged 24 and following in his fathers footsteps as a press toolmaker. Then theres Angelina now aged 20, shes a general servant domestic. Theres Hilda aged 18 her occupation is lapidary which is working with precious stones, so presumably she probably worked in the Jewellery Quarter in Hockley as thats where they were living. Then lastly theres Elsie aged 16 her occupation is chainmaking, so I expect like her sister she'll be working in the Jewellery quarter. The address was 224 Park Road, Hockley Road, Hockley, Birmingham. Then I have a copy of Angelina Rose Carter, nee Mittons death certificate which states she died 29th January 1927 at 224 Park Road aged 65 by then she was a widow. She died of bronchia pneumonia (6 days) cerebral thrombosis (1 year) and senility (1 year) with her son George Horace Carter present. Angelina Rose Carter and Frederick Carters son Frederick went on to marry Alice May Perry in Aston 1906. Leah Jane Carter married Thomas Moyse in Birmingham 1908. Angelina Maud Carter married John Thomas Baker in Birmingham 1914. Hilda Emily Carter married Alfred E Ward in Birmingham 1915. Elsie Lillian Carter married Ernest C Walker in West Bromwich 1917.
Then we go back to the 4th child of Edward Richard Mytton married to Ann Harper Archer, Ebenezer Mytton born 1841 in Dudley as above the father of my husbands great nan.
I have attatched down below the family tree as it stands at the moment, I haven't put any living relatives on. On other trees I've done I do have parents etc for Edward Richard Mitton but this information came from someone else and I've yet to prove it, which will involve visitig churches when time permits. I have suspicions the father is 1 of 2 brothers either Richard Mytton born c1771 married to Helen unknown surname c1771 or William Mytton born c1774 married to Hannah Childe 1776 ,there parents being John Mytton born 1725 and Martha Turner 1734. William and Richard both have gaps in the births of there children where Edward Richard Mytton could have been born.
